Huge white orchid displays for a beautiful wedding at Allerton Castle

Jo and Jason’s wedding was one of the last of 2013 – and what a really fabulous event it was! They were looking for something ‘different’ – dramatic flowers that complemented the beauty and grandeur of Allerton Castle … and they were very open to ideas!  We went with an all white scheme to complement the stunning blue and white architectural details of the reception room which, as it happened, was filled with gorgeous winter sunshine on the day. For the tables I used Singapore orchids massed together to create ‘explosions’ of flowers – with hanging candle baubles and tiny fairy lights secreted among the stems  to twinkle as the light faded.  Jo’s bouquet combined ivory roses with lily of the valley and diamante sprays to complement the detail of her beautiful gown and we dressed the darker ceremony hall with candles and a combination of white flowers.  The staircase was finished with ivory chiffon and tiny spray fairy lights.  It all went down very well, I think! – here is a little snippet from an e-mail she sent me  - and some fabulous photos by photographer Lee Glasgow:
